BioI once read a book about vampires. There was one paragraph that stuck with me. A girls boyfriend asked her why she had cheated on him. She explained that she loved him very much but that she was so afaid of 4am. The time when everyone had gone home or to sleep and there was no one there to save her from her nightmares. She explained that she hated being alone. Maybe she was afraid of herself and the thoughts that would overwhelm her or all the little things that her imagination would create to taunt her. Either way, she explained that she had cheated on him because he refused to stay with her and she needed someone to hold her and help her make it through 4am. Oddly enough, they found her dead body shortly after 4am. She died from a miscarriage. The thing that she found to protect her from 4am had helped her create what killed her.
